In my second year at Wilfrid Laurier University, my roommate’s mother sent me an article about forensic accounting. It was a burgeoning profession, full of opportunity. I got hooked on the idea and quickly left my NBA dreams behind. I have practiced forensic accounting for nearly 30 years, specializing in the quantification of losses in commercial disputes and performing business valuations and financial due diligence across many industries.

I have worked exclusively in the field of forensic and investigative accounting since 1997, obtaining a majority of my experience at Canada’s largest independant forensic accounting firm, Navigant Consulting and its predecessor firms, Kroll Lindquist Avey and Lindquist Avey Macdonald Baskerville.

On behalf of individuals, corporations, and enforcement agencies, my experience includes valuing business interests, analyzing and quantifying economic damages, and conducting financial investigations and financial due diligence. I have assisted in the negotiation of share transactions and contracts and prepared valuation analysis required under Ontario Securities Commission rules, for proceedings under the Family Law Act, Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act, and for the purposes of Chapter 11 proceedings in the United States.

I have qualified as an expert witness in forensic accounting matters before the Ontario Superior Court, the Ontario Municipal Board, the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board and in international arbitration proceedings.

Chartered Professional Accountant (2013), Chartered Accountant (1998) (CPA, CA), Chartered Business Valuator (2000) (CBV) and Certified in Financial Forensics (2017) (CFF) through the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).  I also hold a Diploma in Investigative and Forensic Accounting (2008) (DIFA) from the University of Toronto.

From 2016 to 2021, I was a volunteer member of the Board of Directors, Treasurer, Family Service Toronto. In 2010, I was a volunteer member, and Treasurer, of the Board of Directors for the Toronto Humane Society.
